The Big Superbowl questions

February 5th, 2005 (02:42 am)

Totally stolen, but thought it would be fascinating to see the responses.

With the Super Bowl coming up on Sunday, I thought it'd be interesting to ask you four questions. Don't bother posting the answers: These are only for your amusement and edification. Some folks will know a few of them. Some will know them all. But I'm guessing that, of the four, there's only going to be one that absolutely everyone is going to be able to answer quickly and confidently. Here we go:

1) Which two teams played in last year's Superbowl?

2) Who won?

3) What was the final score?

4) Which of Janet Jackson's breasts was exposed, her right or her left?

Last night, there was a big fireworks extravaganza to celebrate the Super Bowl. It sounded like we were being attacked (I'm, at most, a full mile from the stadium -- across the river, though). Very, very loud. But pretty.

Fucking serious [samiamicons]

Fascinating. :D

But the breasts, man! What about the breasts???

(btw, bet you'll be able to hear every score of the game without even having the TV on - I have something similiar with the rugby ground near me)

Well, that's assuming that the majority of the people at the game care who wins -- which I doubt is true. It's a see and be seen type of thing.

And, at the moment, I'm not sure I won't be there myself. If I see any breasts, I'll let you know.

Also -- another fireworks show tonight. Right now. Either that or a full-scale invasion.

What's interesting is that the Superbowl is actually live on mainstream British tv tomorrow for the first time ever.

The way British TV works is there are four main channels that everyone can receive for free. There's a fifth channel, but some people still have trouble getting. Everything else is extra, and you have to pay for it one way or another.

That's what's fascinating about seeing the Superbowl live on ITV (arguably the most watched channel, and certainly one of the top two). American football has never had that kind of exposure in this country before - and it also has some top presenters too.

As for the half-time show, I understand they're having a 15 second time delay on it. Very stable door of them...
