Thank god for the weekend

Somehow I survived Friday at work. For some odd reason, was in a stinking bad mood for about two hours, but luckily staayed away from most people and avoided biting their heads off. Dunno why really - been a bit stressful this week at work (thankfully the morons at the front of the machine weren't too bad today, and haven't seen the shift manager around since we, the whole CFC crew, practically dragged him to a meeting and told him that we didn't think his changes were working at all). Combine that with not knowing from day to day what exactly I'd be doing that evening (even the poker night was in the balance for four hours at one point on Wed), and lack of sleep. I was considering doing some overtime tomorrow, but frankly I think two days away from work would be better.

But hey - haven't started a flame war tonight so far, so it's all better than yesterday. :D

Anyhow, two memes, both gacked from cindale:

MEME 1
If you and I were alone in a room right now, what would we be doing?

(Now post this in your LJ, and see what people want to do with you. I am so regretting this already :D)

MEME 2
# Scan my interest list and pick out the one that seems the most odd to you.

# I’ll explain it.

# Then you post this in your journal so other people can ask you about your interests

Trouble

We so need to go to the pub at the end of today's workday. Pint of bitter?

Glad it got better.

*hating stupid people today*

Loff the new icon, tis spiffy.

Meme 1: I'd say we'd be having a drink and discussing chicks quite possibly, perhaps scoring them if there were any near bye ... *braces myself for boos from the harem*

believe I can fly [samiamicons]

Mmmm.. pub. Oh hell yes - mine's either a WKD blue or some other vodka based drink.

And good call on the watching/scoring. *will defend ink_addict with his manly body*

I'm sorry work has been difficult. I hope you have a restful couple of days off!

Oh! You started a flame war? Neat! :)

And yay! Memes!

Meme #1... Well, I have season 7 of Buffy now and none of my friends want to watch it with me. Maybe you would be willing! Or we could discuss which AU plot idea I should go with over a couple of cups of coffee. Yes, I'm drinking in the evening.

Meme#2... ellery queen. What's that?

girl!Jack [loki013]

Meme 1 - Definitely. Either the watching and plotbunnying with coffee. I'm easy.

Meme 2 - Ellery Queen is a famous detective from the 1920's onwards in a series of books also written by Ellery Queen. Classic locked room mysteries, scrupilously fair logic puzzles which are just plain EVIL and very well written. I recommend!

I was not! I was consigning my soul to the mortgage company. I won't actually move for another month or so.

Spill it on the flame war.

Dude, what a great icon.

Meme #1: If we were here, probably either reading comics, watching a DVD, or making entirely too much of a ruckus in general before we went out somewhere you could talk all British to the girls here, who would absolutely eat it up. There, well, I've never been to Britain so I have no idea, but the first two options from here seem equally likely.

samiamicons - she does the best icons EVER. Like this one.

And I have been told that about the british accent. Must try that at some point. :D

Yeah, have you seen Love, Actually? So true. It's eerie.

I'd say you're welcome to come visit me -- and you are, really -- but I live in the most boring city in the country.

Meme 1: Probably each trying to figure out who is that stranger who just appeared. If by some miracle we get past that point then probably waffling on about American comics or `eighties British music.

Meme 2: Nothing sounds particularly odd... "Chuck Austen Sucks" is unusual, but it's simply a statement of the obvious and I don't think I need it explained to me... Otherwise I don't know about "Anita Blake" although the name sounds familiar.

1) Arguing about the merits of Buffy vs Harry Potter, and why Cindale hates vampires. *gasp*

2) Negation

We'd be searching the back of your sofa. *raises eyebrow*

Possibly something comic related, I just wouldn't let you drool on my Lady Death or Cry for Dawn ones.

The sarcasm would fly I'm sure. *sighs* Fun times.

Retro - Coy [sarudy]

Meme 1 - I have no idea, but I am dying to find out! Aren't you?

Seriously, we would probably be talking about nothing in particular, which is the best sort of thing to talk about, or I would be watching you play some video game or another, inserting the random snarky dialogue game designers always seem to leave out.

As for Meme 2 - I have already asked about most of the ones I didn't get. And someone already asked about the only other one I was confused about.
