Remix revelation time!

Odd remix this year, and I hasten to add, only on my writing front. The whole AO3 archive and anonymous posting system worked like a dream, and I certainly hope we keep it for next year.

No, twas odd in a different way. I was matched with soda_and_capes, and I assume on the Doctor Who fic front. However, no matter what I tried, I just could not get going with any of them. A remix story for me, has to be one which sticks in my mind afterwards, even if it's not the one I expect it to be. It's got to be one that you almost roll around in your head like a worry bead, smoothing and tweaking, and making you think.

So, in sheer desperation, I went back through soda_and_capes's ficlist and noticed the DC and Marvel sections. And this lovely Iron Man fic Repairs just stood out for me.

Oh, the possibilities. The gaps. The sense of so much more. Potential.

So I wrote Repairmen (and Women).

What I consider to be my first ever Iron Man fic.

And naturally spent the entire next week worrying myself senseless and second-guessing myself non-stop. Big thanks to elementalv and moragmacpherson for being such good betas, and putting up with my panicked flailings for that time.
