Sentimental yet sardonic [userpic]

By the numbers

December 12th, 2008 (11:16 am)

Yes, this format was shamelessly stolen from elementalv. It's a good format, highly versatile, and by the time I finish filing off the serial numbers, mine all mine! *ahem*

Ever since they played it briefly on Never Mind the Buzzcocks last night, I've had Sarah Brightman and Hot Gossip stuck in my head singing I Fell In Love with a Starship Trooper. And I can't find it anywhere on the interwebs!

After 99 years of business, Woolworths is now running its Closing Down sale, with massive 50% Off! signs in its windows. Alas, once you get inside and see the actual miniscule 10% discounts on their already severely over-priced games and dvds, you start to understand just why they didn't make it to 100 not out. That's the blunder of Woolies.

It's a bit worrying that this line is the only amount of writing I've managed to get done in the last six weeks.

"No one needs to have Faith per se," said Giles wearily, starting to clean his glasses for what felt like the one hundreth time, "It's just something that tends to happen more often than not."

On the other hand, as single lines go, I quite like it.

Work-wise, after three months of management pre-planning, six weeks of being told what we'll be doing, who with and for how long, and almost two weeks of solid Christmas pressure; I have still no idea what hours I'm working tomorrow.

I think the title's 'I lost my heart to a Starship Trooper' if that helps. I found it for you on YT but bloody EMI had made them take it down :;sigh::

Now it's stuck in MY head! :;g::

Woolies closing is a shocker.

Your line was very Giles.

That's an ace line... *titters*

You're right about Woolies - I've never been a big customer, but now that I think back their DVDs and CDs were always more than I expected them to be... Sad, really.

I Lost My Heart To A Starship Trooper- Trouser Enthusiasts Mix
Starship Troopers (D-Bop's Saturday Nite Radio Edit)

I much prefer the second version!
PS. I'll only leave them up for 24 hours. :-)

Ooooo... me bad! I quite forgot to thank you very much for that! *slaps wrist*

And yes, I see what you mean about the first track. Track 2, on the other hand, is safely residing on my hard drive now.

Glad you liked it! I'm a big fan of Sarah Brightman, although generally more in her classics style.

Well, I haven't written a damn thing since last November, so it sounds like you're doing quite well.
