Big Brother 8 - US version

August 6th, 2007 (11:57 am)

After last night's Bannergate incident, where some genius flew an airplane with a banner attached around the house during the outdoor Head of Household competion when the housemates could not be called inside, things have gotten interesting. And a lot more paranoid.

Am I the only one who wants CBS to follow up the banner which said

with their own saying

Notice how ED shuts up whe Eric answers back to him, rather than continue the rant like ED would at Kail or Jen. Hmmmm...

Is it my imagination or have Kail/Jen been nominated at this stage for the last three weeks running now?

Jen to win!!

Substitute People

America Sucks. ;)

Well, they're shafting Eric. He didn't ask to be America's Player, as I recall. He's trying to make the best of it he can and he isn't even getting credited for some (several!) of his completed tasks. So far, he's made no money and has been shafted by America. He's doing his best, and really, he's still trying to get the $500,000 and thus, Nick had to go.

The banners are by Janelle/Kaysar fans... I hated, and still hate, Janelle. Completely. From her fake... well, really, what isn't fake on her. And of course her whole thing of "Oh no, I was never in Playboy." Oh gee golly then where'd the pics come? Same place your DUI mugshot did?

Sorry, ran off on a tangent there. So, I supported the Nerd Herd.

And yeah, Amber's crying is just so ... pathetic. Girl has more problems upstairs than I do. Just... gyah. I have this feeling when she gets out of the BB house she'll be called in to talk to CPS.

One little note on Eric. ED is accusing him of being allied with Jen and/or Kail. Which he's not. He's accusing Eric of being the mystery extra vote the last couple of weeks. Well, he wasn't.

What? Oh, no, see, Eric doesn't vote. America does. He can look them in the eye and say "I did not vote for Kail these last two weeks, I swear it." and it be true. He did not, when going in to the DR to talk to Julie during the live shows say "I vote to evict." No, see, the vote was already logged in by America. If he would realize this and word things properly he could avoid lying all together. I wonder if he even has the option of going "You know what Julie, screw America, I vote out Nick!" or something like that.

It's a crappy situation to be in. If he would get voted out, I'd really hope CBS would go "All right, you caught us, Eric isn't voted out this week and he has immunity next week. He was the twist, he has had no control over his votes. Hah-ha... Dick, stop choking Eric! Security!"

I want Eric/Jessica as the final two. Well, what I really want is Jessica as my wife, but I figure I got better odds on her and Eric as the final two.

Really? *shudders* I hated the Nerd Herd with immense loathing, but then I always was an underdog fan, and I adored the episode when Kaysar flipped the whole chess match thing and got Cappy nominated.

Regarding America's Weasel Eric, I'd have a lot more respect for him if he wasn't trashing Jen and Kail so much. He seems to have taken America's mild dislike for her as an excuse to bitch at her and attack her in any way he can. WTF was that whole rant at Jen in the endurance competion all about? That was none of his business.

But I agree that he should have the option of being able to choose whether to vote with America or not - that twist alone is wrecking a large proportion of his gameplay.

You watching the highlights only, or the live feeds btw?

I Can See You - RT S416

... Um, to me? The Nerd Herd were the underdogs. And Howie was an embarrassment to Star Wars fans everywhere.

I think the whole rant during the HOH thing, and also a bit of the Kail/Jen bashing, is from him trying to protect his butt. IIRC, he ranted at Jen during the endurance comp just after the banner flew over and screwed him. Obviously off-balance and most likely trying to do a preemptive showing of "I'm not with them!" And now, as it stands, Jen is throwing him under the bus by claiming he was helping her and Kail when he wasn't. And I'm seriously ticked at how Jess is being swayed by it a bit.

I'd say that twist wrecked about 95% of his game play. He doesn't get to vote, and he's not getting credit for things he is doing. His task is to get Jen nominated. Jen gets nominated. Jen gets off because of the Veto and Eric doesn't get credit for the task. That is amazingly unfair, especially where he hasn't had a chance to play for veto.

CBS grounded the pilot who flew the banner. I may be wrong, but CBS and/or the pilot (and maybe who hired him?) could be open to a lawsuit from Eric and maybe Amber because of that. It did adversely affect their game play and was an action that was supposed to be prevented (since there's not supposed to be any outside contact). That basically violated the rules of the game and could cause a big stink. I know channels are still wary about stuff like that after the old... what was it, "Twenty-One" debacle?

I'm catching the highlights, the "Big Brother After Dark" on Showtime Too and visiting BB8Spoiler, Reality BBQ and BB8 Dish daily... sometimes many times a day. :)

TWOP crack

Trouble is, that by very definition, Eric is getting outside contact/information by his status as America's player. It feels to me that he's basing his hatred of Jen and Kail on how he perceives America to hate them - as demonstrated by all the polls telling him who to nominate.

Eric was talking to Jen quite a bit to start with and giving her some information at the start, but that soon slackened off. Still, I could see how Jen thought he was helping them. I'm not as fond of Eric as I used to be. Jen, on the other hand, has shot up in my estimation for dealing with the Dick thing so well. I think right now, she's sitting pretty as the LNC has imploded into two warring tribes, more likely to go after each other than any stray targets.

Personally, I'd love to see Zach win HoH now - just to watch the scramble to assure him that they really loved him all the time, and please don't nominate them. *grin*

I get my info from HamsterWatch and Television Without Pity, and download the episodes as soon as possible. I was curious, so that I didn't spoil you for anything, but I assume with BBAD, you're bang up to date.

True, that could be where he's basing it from. To me, Kail hasn't done enough really to be hated... in fact, she's done very little since her plan to oust D&D met it's end and Dick got HOH. She's been sort of a... non-entity since then. Well, since her alliance was exposed and she was scrambling to save herself by throwing people under the bus.

Though, about Kail, I gained a whole lot of respect for her after what I read about the Amber attack on Eric yesterday, when there was 3mins of silence and then he was Zached... er, I mean, everyone left without looking or speaking to him (except Dick who said "Sometimes people do get what they deserve."). Kail, from what I read, stayed and spoke with him.

Eric was one of the few talking to Jen early on, deciding not to go with the group hate and see if she was worth knowing... and then, it seems, deciding she wasn't. ;) Jen handled Di... wait, that would look wrong. Jen handled the tea incident and the rest Dick threw at her admirably and didn't press the issue to have him ousted like she could have. I give her respect for that. I may be missing things a bit, but it seems like now though that she's... through allowing Dick to interpret her silence as affirmation, giving the impression that Eric was allied with her and Kail when he wasn't.

Zach as HOH would be a hoot and a holler, but I fear Dustin has already planted enough little seeds of friendship there that he'd be under the spell enough that it'd not be as interesting. But still... I want Eric as HOH just to mess with people, him as HOH, have Amber's key last (she'll cry) and D&D up and out.

From what I've read, Eric has gotten enough people back on board to keep him in the game. Also it seems that people outside are demanding CBS do something about Amber's comments (oh man, please please kick her out without warning and make her sit next to Julie Chen. Amber will be crying, Julie will be "So, you're a former meth-head nympho lying cheating racist... how did you enjoy your time in the Big Brother house?" Someone call CPS and the Humane Society, her daughter and her dog deserve better! Just make sure they can tell which is which, 'cause Amber may've been putting her daughter on a leash and trying to send the dog to school.

Don't worry about spoilers, if you say something I don't know my reaction shall be "WTF? Must check the sites, how'd I miss it, argh!" So I can be caught up. Though I tend to avoid TWOP, the snarkiness there (often about shows I like and with opinions that differ greatly from mine) tend to make my blood pressure raise. I love my tv shows like Amber loves her daughter and her dog. Except that the shows cause me to have great mental scars, not the other way around like with Amber...

Sitting Amber next to Julie Chen could well be verrry interesting, given her husband is Les Moonve(?), a Jew.

I put Eric's possible reprieve down solely to Dustin playing safe and sensible and reminding people in his little group that it's all about the numbers right now. When you take into account Kail, Jameka and Daniele all cannot play for HOH this week, that set of permutations becomes fascinating. I hear they have to wear bunny suits for it tonight as well!

Though if Kail goes tonight, she'll be forever immortalised in the opening titles as exiting in a bunny suit. Hee!

Dirty Word

That would work so well, especially since I read that Julie "researches" for each live ep by watching hours of what goes on in the house. I really can't wait for Amber to be gone and be on the interview circuit and it be all "So, out of the house, is it all Jews you hate, all New Yorkers you hate or just all Jewish New Yorkers?" >:)

I'm real late in getting back to you on this, my net time is a wee bit limited. So... Eric stayed and seems to be playing masterfully despite America's best attempt to prove that they can shove a coconut up his rump. And yes, hehe, Kail is now immortalized. Whee!

And now it looks like Dustin will go. Eric has apparently clued into (or has a producer unofficially clued him in before officially doing so?) what America wants. I read he's been laying groundwork so that the mystery vote to out Dustin... ... "Out Dustin" just made me giggle, sorry. Anyway, he's setting it up so it won't show him as being Mr Mystery Vote conclusively. Maybe he's just hedging his bets in case America screws him or maybe he's figuring out that People suck. ;)

At this point in the show... I want Jessica to win the big money and either Zach (he's an obvious floater but he's vaguely less offensive than most of the others) or Eric to win the second place prize.

And as for Dick, I admire him being such a jackass. It's like he's "My real friends know who I am, screw those watching at home. If people see me like this and don't want to try and get to know me in the future, I don't need them." Plus I like how he went after Jameka. He may have said things the harshest way he could, but a lot of what he said about her rang true imo. And everything he said about her he based off of her actions in the house and his perceptions, observances and interpretations of her in there... and when nothing she could say against him from what she knew could ruffle her feathers, she calls his mother and his daughter bitches...

Hypocrites are annoying, but hypocrites who don't see that they are, or accept it or such... those are exponentially worse. Dang, broke my soapbox. Gotta go find another.
