Stuff Round-up

February 12th, 2007 (10:58 am)

In short, there is a reason why EverQuest is also referred to as EverCrack. I want my sleep pattern back, dammit. Writing has also slid to a complete stand still. Not sure whether this is the dreaded EverCrack at work, or just one of my periodical cannot-write-anything-to-save-my-life type things. *sigh* And speaking of MMO's, tthjinni might well find this CtrlAltDel strip highly amusing.

Have settled down, and worked out a coherant and detailed timeline for all my Buffyverse/Doctor Who crosses to exist in the same universe/timeline, so hopefully I'll be able to start filling in the gaps there soon enough. Interestingly enough, going by onscreen dates and working things forward from there - The Christmas Invasion happened this Christmas, Doomsday should be coming up in April, and The Runaway Bride isn't due till December.

Today at work should be fun. It's the Monday and the Tuesday before Valentine's Day. So, lots of extra sized cards, odd shaped parcels (and let us not forget the recent rash of letter bombs, shall we?) and red envelopes that cannot be read by the equipment. Hopefully, all the snow delayed letters from last week will have been done by the weekend staff, and everyone who went off sick last week will be back.

....Yeah, that's gonna happen. Wish me luck. :P

And now - a meme.

Taken from tthjinni:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open it to page 161.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.

The nearest book is actually The Complete Eighth Doctor comic strips Vol 3, but I can't find the page numbers alas, so next nearest is Storm Front (the first Harry Dresden).

"There was a silence."

Oo! I've just finished the second of the Dresden books, and will be starting on the third just as soon as I finish this little Georgette Heyer that crept into the pile...

Whaddaya think of them so far?

*smirk* Been enjoying re-reading them, and am looking forward to watching the show tomorrow. I've been a fan of the series for a couple of years now since I first came across them in a specialist bookshop.

I think Summer Knight might still be my favourite of the seven so far.

Ah, I just finished that one! Certainly an interesting examination of faerie politics...
