I'm getting worse at these things!

4) Respectable - Mel & Kim
5) (I would say Never Seen A Girl Like You Before by Edwin Collins, but I'm fairly sure that lyric is about Protest Singers, not Porter singers...)

Houses viola

I know #14 is from that Barbie song, and I can hear it in my head now, but I don't know who sings it.

I'm a Barbie Girl, in a Barbie World...

14 Aqua Barbie Girl (seriously great bubble pop music)
15 Ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny. (I am not sure of its title, as it was a clearly overrated song that so many people tried to get me to listen to.)

(2) Bruce Springsteen, "Dancing in the Dark".
(5) Is that Edwyn Collins, "Never Seen A Girl Like You Before", or is it a parody of it?
(12) Falco, "Rock Me Amadeus".
(15) Can't give you the title or the artist but I've seen those words a few times, it's some "super ultimate biggest battle ever" something or other song.

And now a revenge quiz question: which of the three rock stars in the answers above ended up on a postage stamp some time in the early 1990s?

Eureka Ninth Doc

I'm going for the non-obvious answer, and blaming it all on the Germans : Falco?

Some time back around 1993 - 1994 the Austrian post office had this bright idea of putting all Austria's pop stars on stamps. They found a grand total of three of them to thus commemorate before they ran out of pop stars and the idea fizzled out...
