Sentimental yet sardonic [userpic]

*blink* That's fast...

February 6th, 2007 (09:12 pm)

Odd.

Sky One has just been running trailers over here in the UK, announcing that they're going to be showing The Dresden Files from the 14th Feb. That's awfully close to US transmissions for a change - I believe that they'll only have shown three eps in the States by then. Any more transmission breaks/weeks off, and we'll start to catch up...

I seem to remember we used to get the final eps of Babylon 5 seasons before the US too - and some of the early Stargate SG-1 seasons. Would be nice to have that again. *grin* As it is, I know Studio 60 airs in Canada the day before US transmission too.

Like I said - odd.

I think Sky One helped pay for it.

Starbuck Frak! [brendanm720]

They helped pay for BSG too, but do we get that this early?

Yes, I'm still bitter after we got BSG season 1 entirely before the states, and then never again. Well, we got the show, but not early. *sigh* Still at least it looks like Doctor Who's in March.

Dresden Files - Magic

Hooray! So far (after 2 whole episodes) I am enjoying Dresden Files - even if they did make some workarounds from the books.

*is entranced by own icon* Yes, please....*fans self*

Ahhh...I think thought super-short-haired-Harry would work so well.

So far I'm doing pretty OK with the changes, once I get past the "HUH???" reaction at times(though I didn't even notice the car or storefront until they were pointed out to me...they just "felt" right for Harry)

Booster Dreams [jennymalfoy]

Ah! So that's what was on the tv screen in the trailer!

I was so far across the room I couldn't see the tv properly, but it's nice to know that my brain still registers the phrase "Dresden files" in a room full of 25 people all talking, eating dinner and playing pool. Go my brain!

I only just found out last night that they've made a TV series of the books I "discovered" last weekend!

Hee! Just be warned - apparently the series is either "based on" or "inspired by" the books, so I suspect there will be some changes.

Now I'm trying to decide whether to wait till then, or try it out now. I think it all depends on what time they show the series - given that I don't finish work until 8.15, a showing at 8 would be completely out.

Dresden Files - Magic

Well, there is one big part of the books that would never work for TV the way it does in print. I actually quite approve of how they handled Bob.

Given that I don't have Sky, I think I shall wait until it's cheap on DVD somewhere! But if you do see it, please let me know what you think!
