Official Death Notice

October 14th, 2006 (11:59 pm)

All attempts at resusitation have failed.

My Documents are deceased, are an ex-file, and are no longer with us. I am pining for the fics. All three/four years worth of writing.

Anyone who I've ever sent stuff to to beta and which never got posted, could you see if you still have them? wildecate, I think I ran Foothold past you once for example.

Wouldn't a lot of them be in various archives...LJ and fic sites and such?

Not that it would fix it, of course, but maybe some archive searching would result in at least a partial recovery.

Oh, I can recover a good 60-70% certainly that way, but it's all the stuff that never went up that's bothering me. IM conversations about plots or personal stuff, outlines already down, half finished work - all that is gone. :(

I've not come across the initial posting yet, so excuse me if this is covered ground...

I assume you've tried any manner of undelete programs?

my most sincere condolences. If nothing else, at least you have alot of your fic posted on LJ, you should be able to retrieve some of the files from that. *HUGS*

Doctor Who - Devasted

Back in June our PC crashed. We lost every thing on out media disk - tv series, films, vids, photos etc, etc.

But no problem. The photos were on an automatic back-up so we hadn't lost anything irreplacable.

Only the last couple of months backups hadn't worked and we'd lost all the first months photos of the twins, and Doug had lost two days worth of RIAT photos.

So um. I feel your pain.

I can certainly look. Sorry to hear that mate, I know exactly how you feel when my memory stick decided to keel over.
