Doctor Who Xmas rumour

August 4th, 2006 (10:18 pm)

Interesting news according to the newspapers regarding this years Christmas special.

"We've got more details of Doctor Who Christmas special The Runaway Bride. Funnygirl Catherine Tate plays sucidial wife-to-be Donna, who literally falls for the Doc. She attempts a jump from a tall building but is heroically saved by the Time Lord.

Our on-set spy reveals the special episode will also see the return of classic companion Sarah Jane Smith and her robot dog K-9. The theme of the show will be 'past, present and future'.

'We're aiming for the ultimate Christmas story,' says our snout. 'A combination of A Christmas Carol and It's A Wonderful Life, set in London's West End - with scores of evil aliens.'"

Looking forward to it even more now.

dw//scooby gang/sr - me

Gotta say, the whole Catherine Tate element has me not looking forward to it one iota. Sarah Jane, on the other hand, - yay!

Wolverine

Sounds a little suspect - can't see any reason for her to end up inside the Tardis given that setup.

Still Running (DW 2x03)

Really? I was wondering about the Ghost of Companions Past for her.

At least Sarah Jane will counter the general crapiness that is Catherine Tate. Who next, Little Britian?

Dear god, don't give them ideas....

Re: Forgive an ignorant American...

She's meant to be funny. She's not.

Mainly semi-famous for the catchphrase "Am I bovvered?"

Re: Forgive an ignorant American...

Ah. I guess an American equivalent would be Kathy Griffin.

*That's* supposed to be a catchphrase? Why, exactly?
