Passport/holiday update

September 28th, 2005 (10:30 am)

current mood: discontent

It's currently Wednesday morning here, and I'm still due to fly out Saturday midday. Progress made so far is not much. I know that they are dealing with the application, due to a message left on my answer-phone. So, I now have a name of a person and their own line. Unfortunately they're out at the moment, and we're busy playing phone-tag at the moment. Which is slightly annoying, as there are things I need to do in town, but dare not leave home in case I miss the call again.

Tried starting to pack yesterday, only to discover one glaring problem : my suitcase has gone missing. I have NO idea where the hell that's gone to, though empressvesica suggest it got fed up waiting for me to take a holiday and is currently in Italy, sunning itself. *sigh* Arrangements to procure another are in motion, and I should be grabbing one after work today.

Looks like the money side is working itself out too. After the point where the bank approached me about changing one of my accounts up to a Platinum, I was very happy to go along. Up until the point where whenever I tried to use the cashcard for the account at a cash point, and the PIN wouldn't work. Went to the bank, and they told me it was because of the new Platinum card. I left and went away happy. Right up until the point where the damn PIN number wouldn't work on the new card. Getting fed up, I told them about this, and they sent out a new PIN number. Of course, after that, I discovered the truth - they'd upgraded the wrong account. But they had managed to cancel the card for the first account.

Anyhow, looks like that's all sorted now. I just have to be able to get to the cashpoint to check it out. *glares at phone* Ring, Consulate person, ring!

It is an execellent sign that they are busy processing next day travel passports. Okay, maybe not great since I am fairly sure you didn't want to go to London on Friday...but passport!

I stand by my suggestion of where the luggage has gone. Hope it sends you a postcard!

And...on the bank card note, I am telling you - a credit card is FAR more useful. Though if you really want cash, I guess the bank card will help. You know you can do this the super easy way too...Wire me the amount you need or think you want into my PayPal account, which will convert it at not too awful a fee and then I give you the cash, US, when you get here. Just a thought.

Miss You [ninefish]

Hee! I have the credit card sitting there too. *grins*

But good reminder on the PayPal thing, as I still owe you for the expenses already incurred for the Raleigh trip. Catch you tonight hopefully bout that.

And my parents have dropped hints about an early birthday present of US cash too. :D

*shakes head* At some point you are going to have to explain this obsession with cash to me. I just don't get why you want to throw upwards of 15 pounds away...But whatever makes you happy. It's not my money. :P

double trouble

Good to see things are at least moving forward, even if at a somewhat slower pace than you would like.

Tell your suitcase I am quite miffed that it did not take me along.
