Sentimental yet sardonic [userpic]

I think slowfox said it best :

Sorry, but the non-Brits amongst you will have to put up with the Brit contingent's annual expression of surprise that we've actually got snow, and that it's actually settling. Neither are particularly frequent occurrences in Blighty, so we tend to make a fuss of them when we have them.

It was definitely snowing well at midnight last night when I got home, and I suspect that news might have given gianfared a minor heart attack. I strongly suspect Southerners of not quite understanding the concept of snow, but at least it's not settling at the moment. Just wear all your packed clothing at once and you should be okay. :D

The New Englander in me as abso-fucking-lutely no pity for you.

We in the Boston area have been buried under snow since the middle of December.

Some of us have a better concept than others (says the Floridian who grew up about an hour south of canada)

*waves enthusiastically* just remember, neither rain nor sleet nor snow nor badly written PWP will keep the booster from his appointed rounds

We're four inches under here and surprisingly the entire county has ground to a halt and 73 schools are shut. Lazy bastards. Any excuse!

*grins* Well, I was born in Boulder, Colorado and spent a good fourteen years living in the Rocky Mountain region as well as the Midwest, so I have a very good understanding of snow. However, I've lived in the South for twelve years and my blood has thinned enough that I have no desire to experience snow but once a year. That quota has been filled for 2005. *blinks* That said, I need to shop for some Thinsulate clothing this weekend ... obviously.
