Over here in the UK, BBC2 will be showing The Wire from the very beginning as of 11.20 tonight. The entire run (all five series/60 episodes) will be shown every weekday night, so this is your opportunity to get in on the single greatest tv show ever.

The Wire is deep, involving and makes no concessions to the viewer's intelligence. For those of you who have never watched it, I envy you.

You lucky bastards in the UK. Lucky, lucky, lucky.

Okay, I own all 5 seasons already, but I would love, love, love to go back to watch it all again with no clue what was going to come next.

I envy them too, though I still have seasons 4&5 to watch so I envy myself a bit too.

Watched one episode then decided that my actual course of study (Middle Eastern religious interactions) is depressing enough, and I needed some hope in my entertainment. This is the same reaction I had to Battlestar Galactica (and, oddly enough, Mad Men). The show's fantastically made though.

Wait, I misread how you meant, "For those of who have never watched it, I envy you."
