Seconds out...

January 22nd, 2009 (10:38 am)

We're onto Round Two of the voting now at the Crossing Over Awards at TtH, and I've been left with just the one entry remaining. *sigh*

Still, definitely an honour to have got this far, considering the very little writing I did do last year.

I managed to hang onto three out of the five I was nominated for, though one of the categories is a mod award.

I'm still in there for several, but most of the stories I nominated have been dropped - I think there are now seven or eight categories where I would now vote No Award given the choice.

I'm having a big problem with that too... then again, in a bunch of the character awards, I was having that problem before the cut. Does no one know how to write Angel anymore?

(And Booster, all your stories getting knocked out really messed with my voting patterns. It's not anonymous, it's MoragMacPherson. I should probably get an account here at some point. Ah well.)

*waves* Your beta will be on it's way tonight. I swear!

Yeah - you'd think it'd be easier when all the catagories are reduced down to five but it's a real case of Hobson's Choice in places.

Still waiting. =^D (No, I'm not nagging, I swear. I'm just... anxious. Stupid chapter's been a thorn in my side for a week and a half already).

And dammit! After I waded through the entire Stargate category the one I voted for didn't make it! Or my second choice. Grr... next year I'm waiting until after the cut for the SG vote. -MM

Got to admit, even before they got reduced to five per catagory, I was making my choices based on which story was least worst. A "No Award" type vote (similar to the Hugo's?) would be much more reasonable for these.

There's some discussion of this on TTH forums. As usual, the few who want this seen to be outnumbered by the people who want to reward mediocrity.

If you think it will help, I'll add my voice to the crowd. Like I said, the Angel category in particular was really disheartening to me this year, not just in lack of characterization and plots, but a lot of the time in basic grammar (loose/lose, you're/your, etc. confusion hurts me). - MoragMacPherson

Sorry, should have checked over there before responding here. but Booster hasn't yet. :)

BTW, Booster, belated congrats on the COA nom, and I'm tickled too at least ONE of the things I nominated made it through to the second round... :)

Wes Facepalm

I'm still in the running for Wesley in Encore Une Fois. I find I would actually like to win this one, for once. Poor broken Wesley deserves it.
