Felica Day is everywhere!

September 29th, 2008 (09:53 am)

Sometimes you don't see an actor or actress for years, and then suddenly they seem to be popping up everywhere all at the same time. Case in point : Felica Day.

Last time I ever remember seeing her was as Vi in Buffy season 7. Then she's doing an excellent job as Penny in Dr Horrible. This week, she turns up as the Patient of the Week in House. (And for any House fans, here's Felica's blog about working on the ep.)

And then I discover The Guild.

If you've ever played any online MMORPG, you'll recognise yourself in here somewhere. Even if you are not a gamer, it's hysterical for its inter-personal relationships between people who are only used to talking to faceless colleagues. And some of the best one-liners I've seen for a while.

I'm following her on Twitter, where she talks a lot about the Guild: https://twitter.com/feliciaday

Boromir shiny

Oooo... that's fascinating.

And great to see that she's working on a sitcom - and just two minutes after I thought she'd do a great job on one. Hee!

Bwah-ha-ha-ha!

Half of the humour is that I so know people like them (and no, I refuse to say which one I'm most like myself).

Felicia is so my internet girlfriend.

What??

I also just caught her on a commercial for Sears, of all things.

And I got to meet her too!

It's so beautifully observed and never cruelly mocking - it's done with love and gentle humour.

I like that most of the humour comes from in-jokes, so it doesn't act like an outsider poking fun.

Kudos to Felcia for being pro-active and helping to create something really neat and for getting more visible acting jobs. But the Cheeots commercial where Chester urges her to sprinkle crumbs in someone's clothes dryer is kinda creepy.
