....they've cast Joss's new show Dollhouse.

"Dollhouse" revolves around a group of young men and women who are imprinted with different personalities for different assignments. They have no memories of their previous lives, until Echo (Eliza Dushku) begins to try to find out who she was.

Tammoh Penikett will play Paul Smith, an FBI field agent obsessed with the urban myth of Dollhouse and a twisted romantic foil for Echo. No idea what this means for his role as Helo in BSG.

Fran Kranz will play Topher Brink, a twentysomething genius programr responsible for imprinting the dolls.

Dichen Lachman will play Sierra, a doll like Echo and her friend, who has every personality in the world but her own.

Enver Gjokaj will play Victor, also a doll and a friend of Echo's, who is childlike when he's inactive, and everything from Errol Flynn to young DeNiro when he's active.

Seven episode pick-up before the writer's strike, so fingers crossed, eh?

surrounded by idiots

I'm very relaxed about names as a rule but why "Topher"?

Is it short for Christopher? How do you pronounce it? Is it Toffer? Or Topper? Or "I don't like being called Chris"?

Brendan and Police Box

It's usually pronounced "Toe-fer".

As for the etymology behind it... I've no idea. [shrugs]

I was equally confused about Xander to start with until it clicked that it was short for Alexander.

I'm obviously a bit slow.

from what I have heard, the season about to air on Sci-fi is supposed to be thier last. So it might not effect that show at all. But given Sci-fi's love for it, who knows if it will ever end

(Yes, I am bitter)

Eureka - Jack Slow

I have to admit that I didn't know anything about this.

It's going to be sort of like Alias, then... Only not. At least there'll be eye candy... That won't suck.

So, this'll air sometime next year, then?
