Only logical step really after Sweeney Todd...

Tim Burton to do Alice in Wonderland

Place your bets now as to which part Johnny Depp will be playing. The Mad Hatter? The Caterpillar? Alice?!?!?

Immediately, it is the Mad Hatter - but then I keep picturing the Mad Hatter in Willy Wonka wear, and its not all that different.

It would certainly be different if he were to play Alice. But would America be ready for that?

Dawn tilted

Trouble is the Mad Hatter's not around long enough to do more than a cameo appearence, which is why I wonder about Alice. Though if America was to be ready for anyone to do that, Depp would be the manthe one.

Why stop there? Every single Card! They all look similar in the Disney film anyhow. *grin*

Oh, I vote for Mad Hatter.

Another question is what role will Helena play. I'm leaning for the Queen of Hearts.

That's fairly easy for me to imagine.

Maybe the white rabbit? Or the Cheshire cat?

The Rabbit does get more screen time, but I can see him as the Cat more easily, certainly. Hmmm...

Heh - if Depp plays Alice I may actually pay to see the film in a cinema!

Erg, I'm actually getting kinda sick of Alice in Wonderland...BUT DARK! adaptations, or whatever. We're really ODing on them right now.

.......Famous Five?

I wouldn't mind a few more Oz adaptations.

You could still have "light" adaptations of dark origin material, like the Victorian versions of fairy tales. How about "Silence of the Lambs... FOR KIDS."

Mad Hatter is too easy. I'm leaning towards the Queen of Hearts.

Shakespeare

That could be pretty awesome, actually.

I really, honestly think he'd make a fabulous (in every sense of the word) Queen of Hearts. And as sick as I (and many others) are of gothy Burton fairy tales, that would still be awesome.
