...just what tv shows do you guys in the States have left to watch now that the new year has started?

I understand you're getting Torchwood at just about the same time as us in the UK, and that various reality shows might be around (Amazing Race! Yay!), but what else is left for you? Anything at all?

They've got The L Word, The Wire and The Cashmere Mafia for the moment and eventually half of Battlestar Galactica. They also have the tail ends of other shows - Betty, Gossip Girl and so on - where there are two or three episodes left, random single last episodes of e.g. Grey's Anatomy, and another six episodes of Nip-Tuck.

DW Cat and Doc

Hmmm... Thanks for the info. Be interesting to see just what gets moved around now, and when they try showing the odd episodes.

Bupkiss.

We do have half of BSG coming down the pike, and I think a few eps of the normal shows that got made before the strike. (Chuck, Bones, Reaper, et cetera)

No Heroes, though.

:(

BSG - Starbuck - Drink Under Table

Let me know how you like the fact that Grace O'Malley called it.

dawn - yes

Mythbusters. That one's a definite.

And I just have an automatic revulsion to anything that involves sending dvds through the post. :(

Lost
Sarah Connor Chronicles
reality shows like Amazing Race, Big Brother, and Biggest Loser

That's about it for me, I think.

Sarah Connor looks good.

Big Brother get moved up? It hardly seems like any time at all since Dick the bastard won the last one...

BSG Improved Harvey

We get Torchwood on the 16th, you get it on the 28th I think.

So, what's this dance show then? I got kinda hooked on the British Strictly Come Dancing show...

Millennium

I'm pretty much sufferin' with nothing new.

Mytbusters on occaision. I'll have a few Losts, and a few Mediums soon.

I'm in the midst of Veronica Mars on the computer, and THAT locale is stockpiled with four seasons of SG1 DVDs. And three of those have commentaries on every ep, so very much with the busy-keeping.

I've been rewatching B5 while I do my mostly-nightly excercise, since there's no Daily Show to keep that up.

Fortunately at the TV I've got a bunch of baaaad movies (And a few good ones) to keep me occupied when it is time for dinner. I'm currently in the midst of Farce of the Penguins.

Ooh, and Iron Chef America, I just started watching too.

Sinfest - Percy Noogie

Mythbusters has been recc-ed a lot, so that's a definite trier. Iron Chef sounds... interesting...

There's plenty!

As you mentioned Torchwood AND WHO!!

Stargate Atlantis because all the epis of that were in the can before any of this started.

And yeah - reality shows. Um I'm watching:

Real Housewives of OC
Project Runway
Twister Sisters (they chase tornados)
Celebrity Apprentice
Crowned: Mother of all Pagents
Amazing Race
Girls Next Door
Miss America Reality Check

Um - I should get out more.

Ult Spiderwoman

Celebrity Apprentice? I am so there...

(btw, what new Who? Season 3? *is confuzzled*)

Torchwood - Jack Smirk

Dunno. *goes to check*

Well crud. S3 it is. BBCA touted it as "New Who" following the S2 premiere of Torchwood but their listing shows it is indeed S3.

*sulks*

I guess SciFi has retained the first US air rights.

Atlantis (which I forgot was coming back so soon and thus missed Friday's episode)
The Sarah Conner Chronicles
The Wire

I still have 89 hours of stuff on my TiVO to watch which includes 26 episodes of "Cowboy Bebop," 8 episodes of "Rome" and just about every episode of "Entourage." When I make a dent in that stuff, I'll probably look for a syndicated series I never watched before and TiVO it.

If season 5 is like the previous seasons of The Wire (and it should be), then you should be able to watch it without any previous knowledge and enjoy the current storylines. But you will be missing an aweful lot of backstory and character relationships and that may cause confusion sometimes. If you are interested in the show, I say go for it and watch it and if you like it, get the previous 4 seasons on DVD or whatever and then re-watch season 5 to pick up on things you missed.
