Here we go again...

December 3rd, 2007 (09:54 am)

Tis the offical start of Christmas Pressure here at the Post Office once more.

As such, early starts, cranky managers, jamming machines, snapping belts, dubiously handwritten addresses and thousands and thousands of frigging Christmas cards will be all my life consists of until Dec 24th.

In other words, I might not be around that much in December as usual. Wish me luck.

We'll miss you. Write when you can, and don't let those Axis bastards win, you hear?

*suddenly feels like he's back in the Blitz*

Stiff upper lip, old boy! Jerry'll get a damn good thrashing if he tries invading jolly old England. Still, all be over by Christmas, eh what?

Now, I need to lay in wait for multiple deliveries this week...

Good luck. If you're not back by the 28th, we'll send out a search party.

Good luck, and uh, Happy Holidays (if they can be happy for anyone with your job...)

Stick poke smilie

Oh, the Holidays themselves are pretty happy by the time they roll around - even if I do tend to sleep right through them!

lots of planets have a south

Luck.

If it's any consolation, it isn't much fun on this side of the letterbox either. Our local Post Office just implemented a new automated system. Changed everybody's postcode. Demanded that we use rural house number addresses as well as rural delivery round numbers on addresses. Split small towns into suburbs (a local town with a population of less than 2000 has been split into three suburbs). And they didn't make sure their own systems were right before they did it.
