The oddest things...

October 30th, 2007 (05:27 pm)

...come through when you're working at the Post Office.

There's a small parcel come through which is wrapped in what seems to be pages of an old British black and white comic strip. It's not something I'ver ever heard of, but it seems cracktastically engrossing.

Called "Under the Rocket" or possibly "School Under the Rocket" (guessing here), the Previously On... is clearly readable :

...Vega 1, is shortly to be launched on a manned space-flight to Mars. Sharon has discovered that Miss Martin, a teacher at the special school in the rocket station, is really a robot agent from an enemy power, designed to destroy Vega 1 - but no-one will believe her and help her to stop Mis Martin.

The robot teacher switches the personalities of Sharon and her father and, using her hypnotic powers, sends 'Sharon' to the rocket station headquarters to get information vital for the destruction of Vega 1.

How can you NOT want to read the next bits of this cracktastic story?!?! What I can see from the wrapping seems to involve Sharon's headmistress suddenly turning up and 'Sharon' smoking a pipe while 'she' greets her.

Cracktastic, I tell ya.

Maybe someone wanted to provide you Postal Workers with some amusement :) It kind of sounds like the odd packages two artists sent each other in the 90s as kind of a experiment on what things the Post Office wouldn't or couldn't deliver. They have a website with pictures of the packages but I can't remember enough to find it again.
