That Peter Kay thing

June 17th, 2006 (10:25 am)

So, in honour of Peter Kay's appearing on Doctor Who tonight, ten of his best pearls of wisdom. *grin*

1) In every plate of chips, there is a bad chip.

2) Everyone had an uncle who tried to steal their nose.

3) People who don't drive slam car doors too hard.

4) The most painful household incident is wearing socks and stepping on an upturned plug.

5) There's no panic like the panic you momentarily feel when you've got your hand or head stuck in something.

6) The most embarrassing thing you can do as a schoolchild is call your teacher mum or dad.

7) You're never quite sure whether it's OK to eat green crisps.

8) Everyone always remembers the day a dog ran into your school.

9) Nobody ever dares make cup-a-soup in a bowl.

10) One of the most awkward things that can happen in a pub is when your pint-to-toilet cycle gets synchronised with a complete stranger.

The most painful household incident is wearing socks and stepping on an upturned plug.

Been there, done that, got the slightly holey socks to show for it.

Mind you the plug came off second best... I never did manage to bend the earth back the right way...

You are totally awesome. You just made my day. I was being pissy about having to come in to work. Now I'm feeling a bit chipper. LOL.

The man's a genius - the thoughts of Chairman Mao pale into insignificance by comparison.

Oh isn't it? S2C owns our larger car, but prefers to be chauffered - and when I dropped him off at work last week I found myself going 'You don't need to slam it! Closing it will do!' - and realised that the less he drives, the more he slams car doors!!

And 7 - so true! And I have to say I had never even thought of (9)!
